Samir Abdullah Saleh Abu Eisheh was minister of planning in the Palestinian national unity government between March and June 2007, and also served on this position in the government formed by Hamas in 2006.

Abu Eisheh was born in 1960 in Nablus. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Jordan and a PhD in urban planning from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a consultant for various Palestinian, Arab and international institutions and a visiting professor at different American and European universities. He is currently vice-president for development and planning at al-Najah University, Nablus, and dean of the engineering faculty. He has published 60 research studies on planning.
